From My Kitchen to Yours

Aug 4, 2025

Its Actually was never meant to be a business at first. It started in the most ordinary way, in my own kitchen, with a pot of broth simmering on the stove. Broth has always been a part of my life. It is something my mother and grandmother made often and something that became a source of comfort and healing for me, especially during my postpartum journey.

At that point, I was simply making something I loved, something that felt nourishing and real. Then a friend asked me to bring some broth to her event, and that one decision completely changed everything. We set up a small tasting station, and I honestly did not expect much. But people loved it, and more than that, they wanted to take it home. That was the moment when I realized this could be bigger than just my kitchen.

We quickly put together an online store and went to bed feeling excited. The next morning, I woke up to thousands of orders! I still remember the mix of shock and gratitude when I saw those numbers. It was incredible, but the truth is, we had no system in place. There was no plan, no team, just the determination to figure it out. For months, I did everything myself, with a little help from someone behind the scenes and from my husband after his nine-to-five job. Every day felt like a marathon, but I was fueled by passion and the belief that what we were creating truly mattered.

As the demand grew, we had to make some big decisions. Do we scale fast by outsourcing? Do we work with manufacturers and add preservatives or make changes that would compromise the integrity of our product? Every option came with shortcuts that never felt right. For us, the answer was always no. We were not willing to sacrifice quality for convenience.

That commitment is still at the heart of everything we do. We make every batch in-house. We slow simmer using whole ingredients, and we only source locally. We take care of the entire process from start to finish because we believe that when you choose to put something in your body, it should be as real and as honest as possible. And for us, that also means our broths are 100% halal, prepared with the same intention and care that guided every decision from day one.

People often ask me why broth. Why not something else? And my answer is always the same. Broth has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It has been there in moments of comfort, in times of healing, and in everyday meals that brought my family together. That is what I wanted to share. Not a trend, not a shortcut, but something real that people can feel good about. And for me, that also meant keeping our broths halal and honest, made with care and the same intention that started it all.

This journey has been challenging and messy at times, but it has been worth every step. And it is only possible because of the support we receive from people like you. Thank you for letting us be a small part of your home and your health.

With love and gratitude,
Maryam
